Trainee Account Controller

What would your average day look like?

My days are never the same but my overall work generally consists of getting clients accounts up to date in preparation for tax returns, management accounts or statutory accounts as well as communicating with clients for extra information required whether that’s invoices/bills required or copies of bank statements.

What do you enjoy most about your to role?

I most enjoy communicating with clients and learning more about their business as well as them as people – what they got up to over the weekend, what hobbies/interests they have.

What is most challenging about your role?

The most challenging part of my role would be ensuring I get all the information off clients in time to produce reports required before a deadline. If I don’t get the information on time this holds up the team with the work they are trying to do!

Something you love to do?

My main hobby is sport – I sadly don’t play as much as I used to but try and keep as active and fit as I can whether that’s playing an hour 5 a side football game or going to the gym for an hour after work! I watch as much sport as I can especially football where I regularly go to Aston Villa games being a season ticket holder.
